Embracing the Spirit of Giving: A Look into the MJBall23’s Impact
As we step into February 2024, the momentum of the year is really starting to kick off in the best possible way.
The generosity of everyone who helped support the MJBall23 is already delivering, with over £600,000 donated to some wonderful causes in January and February alone.
The beneficiaries of the MJBall23 span a diverse range of organisations and causes, each contributing to a better society in their own unique ways. I’ve been able to provide contributions to charities such as Variety, the Children’s Charity, Endeavour (Paws for Kids), The Hope Foundation, Humans MCR, The Anne Frank Foundation, CLAPA, The Rainbow Trust, and ACT, the impact of these donations resonates deeply within the hearts of those they benefit and none of it would be possible without my supporters.
And that’s just the start! There are many more contributions on the horizon so stay tuned to learn where more of the money will be going.
This is my favourite time of year – its when we start seeing the fruits of our labour and really making a difference – and making people happy. Then of course, it’s spring! Symbolising renewal, growth, and the promise of brighter days ahead. It is a time of reflection and renewal, the days are getting longer and lighter and we know that summer is on its way.
Another recent highlight for me has been meeting the immensely talented actress Michelle Keegan, my first official engagement as Chief Barker of Variety, the Children’s Charity. I helped present her with the Variety Club Silver Heart Award 2024 for Outstanding Achievement in Global Television and Streaming at the event, held at the prestigious Nobu Portman Square on 31st January. The evening was part of Variety’s 75th-anniversary festivities and what a night it was! Also in attendance was Michelle’s husband Mark Wright, Professor Jonathan Shallit OBE, Dame Arlene Phillips, Christopher Biggins, Vanessa Feltz, Linda Plant and Tessa Sanderson CBE.
I have so much more planned this year and can’t wait to share everything with you, so please stay tuned to my social media and to this blog for updates.
Wishing you all a great start to the new season and sunny times ahead.
