You may have spotted the announcements on my social media, and coverage in the press, but we have recently had the pleasure of announcing our headline performer for this years event… Lulu!

That’s right, pop icon, global star and friend of the MJ Ball, Lulu, is back.

Having previously supported and performed at the first Michael Josephson MBE Charity Ball in 2018, Lulu will take centre stage, following her recent announcement to retire from touring. Her nationwide Champagne For Lulu farewell tour closed at the London Palladium earlier in April, plus it was recently confirmed that in addition to the Michael Josephson MBE Ball, Lulu will take to the stage at the world famous Glastonbury festival this June. So, if you missed out on tickets to Glasto, but have tickets to the MJ Ball 24 – then you’re in luck!

Speaking about her performance, Lulu said: “I’m delighted to reveal that I will be the headline performer at the Michael Josephson MBE Charity Ball 2024. Last year, the annual event broke records by becoming the first million pound plus fundraiser in the North West. I’ve worked with Michael before and can’t wait to return – it’s wonderful to support such important causes.”

There’s also more exciting news. We have not four, but FIVE key beneficiary charities this year – Variety, the Children’s Charity, The Anne Frank Trust, Mahdlo Youth Zone, Seashell Trust and Rainbow Trust – all who work with children and young people in need of support.

As you know, the Michael Josephson MBE Charity Balls have raised millions for children’s charities since their launch in 2018. Since the last event, in November 2023, broke records, and raised £1,063,872 net total, we have a big benchmark to work towards. But, you know I love a challenge! Bring it on.

We’re not done with the announcements, so please stay tuned for more exciting developments and news. We’ve managed to get a lot sorted, but there is still so much we need to do, to help make this years event better than ever….. Including the all-important Silent Auction and Grand Auction prizes. I can guarantee you will be well and truly wowed when you find out what some of these are.
