Reflecting on an Unforgettable Year!

As 2024 draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on what has been a truly remarkable year—one filled with joy, achievements, and the immense privilege of giving back to those in need.

One of the main highlights for me remains the incredible impact of last year’s MJ Ball, which allowed us to donate significant funds to many wonderful causes, something we did throughout the year. Of course, some of this went to the four main beneficiary charities we had last year; Rainbow Trust, Variety, the Children’s Charity, Mahdlo Youth Zone and The Anne Frank Trust, to allow them all to further their vital work. But I’m equally proud of how we’ve supported smaller charities too. Organisations like Endeavours (Paws for Kids), The Hope Foundation, Humans MCR, CLAPA, ACT, Seashell Trust, Toy Appeal for Christmas 2024, and GMYN each received much-needed funding to help them continue their life-changing work. Witnessing the difference these donations have made is truly humbling – and again, it’s not possible without your help!

This year has also been defined by some extraordinary personal and professional moments. In July, I was deeply honoured to receive a Doctorate in Social Science from Bolton University, making me officially a Doctor! Being recognised in this way is something I will always cherish, it’s a reminder of the importance of staying true to your values and using your platform to inspire change.

Another highlight came in September, when I was privileged to dine with HRH The Princess Royal at St James’s Palace for a special charity dinner, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that reaffirmed my commitment to making a difference, such a hardworking, passionate and inspiring lady! Then, earlier on in the year, I had the pleasure of meeting HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh at the Seashell Trust—an inspiring occasion that helped to highlight the incredible work being done for children and young people with complex needs. What a lovely day that was.

Of course, this incredible year culminated in MJ Ball 24 at The Hilton Deansgate—a record-breaking event that raised an astounding £1,204,488.78! The night was unforgettable, with the brilliant Elizabeth & Damian Hurley, Patsy Kensit and my good friend Biggins, among our VIP guests. The evening was a true celebration of generosity, community, and the power of coming together to support worthy causes.

As we approach 2025, I want to thank everyone who has supported me on this journey! Let’s carry this momentum into the new year and continue striving to make a difference where it’s needed most.

Here’s to hope, community, and the extraordinary things we can achieve together.

Finally… wishing you all a Merry Christmas!
